Football Association for Girls Now In Miwest
Paving the way for girls to fall in love with playing the game!
Midwest Inclusive Football Movement
Lincoln, NE
For years, in a sport that is ever evolving, women have been slowly immersing themselves onto the gridiron. With over 100 adult women’s tackle football teams in the United States alone, there has yet to be a show of consistent investment in a foundation for females playing the sport. A strong foundation roots itself, creating a self-sustaining mechanism that exhibits growth and development on a base level.
In the Midwest, we have seen much interest for girls to play, but few opportunities. We want to provide a place where females can participate with their peers without having concerns involving gender. We feel that self-confidence and sportsmanship will be attained through creating this space for girls to have a league of their own.
As an organization we want to set the standard for how youth sports should operate. The foundation we form can create a platform of empowerment and proper development progression for the athletes we serve. By example, we can show other organizations the positive culture that quality organizational structure can provide to our developing and impressionable athletes. The excellence we provide our members is showing them ways to be courageous, daring, strong, wholehearted, committed, and better human beings through the sport of football.
Midwest Inclusive Football Movement boasts a Board of Directors ready to hit the ground and replace words with actions. Board President Nancy Major is a lifelong coach and operations supervisor in Nebraska and brings a wealth of experience working specifically with female youth. Vice President Lisa Beaugrand, Secretary of the Board, Alycia Comer, and Treasurer of the Board, Danielle Major all have a passion for football and seeing it progress for women and girls.
Nancy Major has had an active role in women’s tackle football for the past 18 years. For many years, Nancy has felt a strong desire to build an organizational structure to lay a strong foundation to support, develop, and grow the sport. She is excited to finally have the right mix of people in place to make a strong desire an unrelenting reality focused on impacting the world of football as it continues to evolve.
